What a day!
Remember this date the 29th June 2021. England beat Germany in the Euro’s but the biggest winners were here in Suffolk where East Suffolk Council unanimously granted planning permission for the restoration of the Wickham Market Grade II listed George Community Pub.
This is a significant milestone towards the opening of the Pub. Still a way to go but we take the opportunity to thank all our shareholders, pledge makers and friends for their ongoing support. The George Committee have worked tirelessly to get to this point – over 7000 volunteer hours with many more to follow. Of particular mention, our thanks go to Purcell Architects and the many consultants that have been involved in the design and specification of the project.
Most importantly, special thanks to all grant givers especially our mentor and major grant funder The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Without lottery players across the UK this project would not be possible.
Fundraising is ongoing and we hope that you will support many of our future events. If you are a supporter and have some spare time to help we would really appreciate your getting in touch via email. Have some fun knowing that you will be helping us to bring a valuable asset back to life for the benefit of all our community.
